Sew Crafty Friday: Valance

Here is the valance I made for my kitchen. I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and took home the cherries-on-pink fabric, because it looks really nice in my kitchen. A valance is very easy to make, because it is just one continuous piece and you don't have to worry about hems matching up. And you can change it out with the seasons without spending a fortune! This one cost me about $10, with fabric left over.
BTW, I took this shot with the camera slightly above my kitchen table so you wouldn't see the absolute mess on it, LOL!
Please check my sidebar for the link to Shereen's "Sew Crafty Friday," under "Waiting for Him." There's some great stuff to be found!

That is very cute! You wouldn't believe what I strategically avoid when taking pictures for my blog!! Also I crop out all sorts of stuff and move stuff out of the way alot!

What a great valance. I can't wait until we stop moving and I am motivated to put cute stuff up. I have been living with white mini-blinds for so long who knows what crazy fabric I will chose!
Great job!

I like the fabric you chose. I like bright, bold fabrics and your valances look very nice. You did a great job.

Amen to hiding stuff when you take pictures. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Sometimes, we collect all kinds of stuff on our kitchen table.

I really like it! It is very "cheery" and I bet it makes the room look different than it did before.

Great look! Don't you love it when something is so easy, but adds so much to a room? I need to get something sewn for the windows in my kitchen that we just remodeled. I can't wait to pick out the fabric!

Fantastic job. I love the pattern combination of the checks and the cherries, and the blend of colors. Very chic. Have a blessed week.
