Saturday Sewing Tip

Today's tip is: have more than one pin cushion! One would be for pins, of course. But you can use another to keep pre-threaded needles on hand. This is great if you're like me and you work on multiple projects. I always try to have at least one white and one black threaded needle. But I also have pink, lavendar, green, red or any other color I will need for whatever "WIPs" I've got going.

There are tutorials out there for really nice pincushions, if you're inclined to make some yourself. Here's a link to a blog with an easy, cute one. Just check her sidebar!

Have fun this weekend!

Thank you! Have been wanting to give pincushions a try but didnt want to have to forge my own pattern. Nice to see another Pennsylvanian blogging.
Kindest regards,

That's a great tip, I would never have thought of it, but it makes so much sense. Thanks :)

Good tip! We are thinking alike this week. I made a pink and brown, you guessed it, John Deere bag yesterday. Its up on the blog. I thought about you yesterday because I got a little plastic bowl that has a screw on lid and dumped a bunch of pins in it to put beside my machine. Its deep enough they can't fall out. I had so many on my magnetic ones they kept falling everywhere!

Thanks for the links!
My sewing goes in cycles; either I'm not making or I'm making seven things at once! But I think the multiple pin cushions sounds like a good idea!
