Now that I have it, what do I do with it?

I'm pretty good about not buying 'just anything' at garage sales--which means I look for useful stuff. But combine unusual with cheap and I can't resist! This box cost me all of $2. It is made of wood and rather heavy. My guess is that it was meant to hold two bottles of wine and...what? I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. I just knew I'd regret not getting it for that price. Somehow, somewhere, I'll be hit by that bolt from the blue and know exactly what to use it for!

It looks to me like those tubes would be great to fill up with flatware, then you could fill the box with paper napkins, or condiments etc to bring things to the table or out to a patio table.

Sort of a picnic caddy but classier!

Great box! I would use it to carry my knitting or crocheting projects, needles or hooks would go in the cylinders, as well as spare yarn, and the knitting itself in the box.

Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you'll come back again soon...I love the company! That is a neat box you found. Both Jenn and biscuitbear had great ideas on how to use it...good luck!

I think a picnic, just like Jenn said would be the perfect use for this incredible steal!! I am sure you'll find some creative and unusual way to use it! Thanks for stopping by the blog and leaving the lovely comment! (you are very lucky to live so close, I am sure it sounded heavenly!)

I'm picking Biscuitbear's idea because I've always got a crochet project going. But I might switch it off with Jenn and Paper Moon's idea. It would be nice to carry everything out to the deck in one pass, and I think the paper plates might even fit in that!

I agree that it would be a good serving piece for a buffet. Rolled napkins in one tube, silver in another and plates it the big part! I'd definately get a lot of use out of it that way.

Thanks for coming to visit, it is nice to meet a fellow cheap- I mean frugal person.

I would use it for my portable scrapbook supplies for when I get together away from home with friends!
