One thing I love about "Sew Crafty Friday," over at Shereen's Blog, "Waiting for Him" (see sidebar), is that it forces me to work on things that might otherwise hang undone for ages. Trust me on this, I have a LOT of WIPs that hang for ages. But today, I actually finished this blouse!
It is Simplicitly 6715. There are several versions of this top, and pants, too. I like it because there are no buttons or zippers to deal with. I had to alter it a bit because the sleeves were too long and the bust fell in totally the wrong place for my figure. The mannequin made changing the darts quite easy. But all in all, a very easy pattern that I certainly plan to use again.
The lace is from my grandmother's collection. I think I got the fabric at Joanne's.
Don't forget to visit Shereen's blog for more goodies! More important, show something off! Anything 'crafty,' whether it be crochet, embroidery, a scrapbook page...or even the way you decorated for Halloween!

Very pretty.
Thanks, Sue!
Nicely done! I have thought about participating in the Sew Crafty Friday...I have dawdled though because I don't know if I could do something EVERY week...
I know exactly what you mean about WIP's...I can count about 20 right off the top of my head. And worse yet is the fact that each day I think about some project I would like to do in the future... Ugh. It's a curse! ;-)
Very lovely! The lace added to it really makes such lovely difference! It is definitely a keeper! I love coming to see your projects! I hope that I will be able to whip up clothing like you do some day!
Also, I wanted to say that adding a top-stitch to last week's project would really make the collar look much better!! Thank you for the wonderful idea! The pattern is pretty busy, so I am pretty leary of adding things, but getting that collar under control would be a bonus!
Blessings!
Very nice job, Clare!!
How talented you are! I have never attempted to make anything that didn't require a glue gun!! LOL
I'm not kidding...I made a pair of drapes once and I used a glue gun to make the rod pocket...that was about 20 years ago!!
Blessings,
Robin
I love this top! The style is right up my alley. If I could get over my fear of sewing my own clothing, I would give it a try. But I just can't seem to so it!
Good for you to finish a WIP. I've got some of those too! I'm going to try to participate in Sew Crafty Friday this week, since I've been working on some sewing projects lately. I guess I could do "Frugal Friday" and "Sew Crafty Friday"!
