A good day for crafting! (SCF)

Must be friday, 'cause Shereen's hosting "Sew Crafty Friday" again! http://w8ng4him.blogspot.com/

It looks like this outside. So it's a good day to stay in and sew, scrap, cook--whatever! I've been working on the dress I'm designing. Here are some photos:

As you can see, I need to put darts in the bodice. the shirring is done with alternating rows of black and white floss--by hand. It's going pretty quickly. (Of course, I marked my lines on the inside. I couldn't sew that straight to save my life, LOL!) BTW, I think I'm going to keep it sleeveless. I might make (or buy) a short white linen jacket to wear over it. We'll see--with the weather the way it is today, it feels like it will be forever before it's warm enough to wear this.
Today, I also hope to cut out the pink flannel lining for a little child's jacket I'm making (shown in an earlier post). And...to put the elastic in the pantaloons for the lavendar child's dress (another earlier post.)

Oh, I wish I would slow down long enough to sew. Seeing your project makes me just want to forget everything else and make something new to wear! I have to paint baseboards. Not a glamorous project but will be nice when my sweetheart gets them all installed. Will make a big difference.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for leaving your sweet comments. I will be back soon to check in and see what you are doing. Maybe by that time I'll be able to say that I've been sewing!

The snow is lovely. We haven't seen any staying snow for years here so I enjoy all the pictures being posted.
You put in so much work into your projects. I'm looking forward to seeing the dress on you when it's finished. I should be simply lovely.

Wow, that dress looks wonderful. I have never done anything that complicated before. I am still working on a skirt for myself that I started on Jan 5th!

We have the same weather today - about 10" of snow so far. After seeing that shirring, it makes my binding job not seem so bad - LOL!

Great job,

Terri

I mean by hand, needle and thread. haha I don't have a place for machine right now and I like to learn the hard way of things first. :)

Hey I'll trade our ice for your snow! I really love the color of your top. It reminds me of a robin's egg...okay, I'm really looking forward to spring! My "Red" loved the comment you left about all the things "7". He really got a kick out of it.
BTW, I hope you will model your outfit when complete. You've done such a great job.
