Tackle It Tuesday: Plastic

Okay, not a huge project but one that needed to get done. I hauled all the plastic and glass containers into a laundry basket, then divided up by tops and bottoms. I like to store my things with their tops when possible, so I did some matching. It's hard to throw out lids, though, because you know darned well the bottom half is going to show up...someday. BTW, I wrote to Hellmann's and told them I hate the new plastic jar. The glass mayo jar was such a nice container. I wash the plastic ones, but they don't go into the dishwasher and getting that mayo out is a pain. (I bought a baby bottle brush for this, btw.) Hellmann's replied that most of their customers are happy with the switch. I don't believe them, but I'm just one voice in the wilderness. Here's the link to our Tackle It Tuesday host's blog: http://www.5minutesformom.com/ There's always some great stuff there!

Woot!!! Well done :). You are funny, but your right in saying that the bottom of a container turns up as soon as you get rid of the top or the other way around. You know, not too many companies make glass containers any more. Sad but true. Glass is much nicer, but I guess more expensive? But then again, with the oil prices these days...

Good Job. LOL you know how many times that has happened to me???

I throw something out because I can't find the lid or the container and the next day, there it is, almost taunting me. It's sad LOL

Mine is up :)

Mine is awful. I think today I will tackle it. Your pics inspried me :-) Now only if the kids will help keep it clean. They are secretly plotting against me with the tupperware I think.

Thanks for visiting my Tackle it (I was going to use the initials, but that didn't look right!). I know we're supposed to change the batteries, but I just never get around to it.

I have the other problem. I have bottoms for containers, but no lids! I guess moving or something lost them. I should do your thing, too, but with all my bowls and everything!

Oooh, that is a job, finding all the matching pieces to your containers. I've been putting that task off for a LONG time now. I'm very lazy; I usually just put plastic wrap or aluminum foil over top of my storage containers. Keeping the pieces together is a pain in the butt. Keeping them organized and straightened is a pain, too. You did a great job!

Even the small projects are important. I will probably run out of areas of real mess and end up with these types of tasks to post about. Way to go! Thanks for stopping by yesterday. I apologize if there was issues with my blog. DH and I were working on it yesterday.
