I Love Free

A few days before we left for Ohio last month, we were driving around the neighborhood and spotted this desk and etagere on the roadside. Both in perfect condition! Happily, we had my Escape. I had Mike and Nicky lug these into the back of the truck.
The desk is in perfect condition (for the record, the chair comes from my dining room). Mike set it up in the living room for me. So far I've used it to finish some scrapbooking pages. I hope to eventually be inspired enough to do some writing.
I used to have my fabric in boxes in the closet. I had the boxes numbered, and references pages in my family binder so I knew where to find things. Now everything is out in the open where I can see it.
It amazes me what people throw away!
What's the best 'roadside find' you ever came across?

Free is my favorite too!You lucky duck...I have been searching for a desk kinda similar.....or a school type one...now that we do school at home I didn't want the kids to be chained to the kitchen table all day...(well I don't have to chain them)...LOL
Blessings,
Robin

I can't believe somebody threw that sweet desk away. I'm glad you found it.

Great find!!!!
Today I found a brand new white wicker chair along the curb. The matching vanity was with it but was in poor shape. I think someone must have tap danced on the top of the vanity. I guess they decided they didn't need the chair!
I was glad to take it home!

Nice finds. My best find was a Little Tikes Slide and Little Tikes Teeter Totter! It was just sitting at the curb to go out with the trash. I of course grabbed them up and put them in my car. My husband thinks I'm crazy and that its gross to take things from the trash.

I'm trying to say 'hi' over at everyone's blog. But Kati, if you come back...wow, imagine someone throwing out Little Tykes toys! You were smart to snatch them up!
Tell your husband, at least you don't dumpster dive...
...uh, you don't, right?

Wow, I thought I did good for $65, but yours takes the cake! I love finding discarded goodies like that...but my kids cringe if I slow down. I guess they know me too well!
